Prof. Hrachya Harutyunian
Prof. Hrachya Harutyunian, Armenian born internationally acclaimed concert violinist is one of the prominent alumni of the famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Winning prizes in various international competitions in the beginning of his professional career enabled him to perform at major concert halls throughout Europe, Asia and America.
Following the personal invitation of Sir Yehudi Menuhin in 1989, he moved to Switzerland to work as the Assistant to the Director at the International Menuhin Music Academy. Since 1990 he has performed in over 20 concerts as a solo-partner to Sir Yehudi Menuhin and Isaac Stern.
Hrachya Harutyunian’s leading positions in top German orchestras, such as Concertmaster of the German State Philharmonic Orchestra, Concertmaster of the Munich Philharmonic, first violinist of Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Concertmaster of Stuttgart Philharmonic, permanent guest Concertmaster at Bavarian Radio Orchestra and the Bamberger Symphoniker bear witness to his exceptional abilities and broad competence.
His musical expertise has been widely recognized by such prominent musicians as Maestro Sergiu Celibidache, Carlos Kleiber, Claudio Abbado, Sir Georg Solti, Bernhard Haitink, Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, James Levine, Seiji Ozawa, Daniel Barenboim and many others.
Derived from his diverse professional and artistic experiences Prof. Hrachya Harutyunian developed his own unique teaching system for string players called “The Crescendo System”, which he has successfully applied since 1996 in the process of educating both advanced students and professional orchestral musicians. He has founded the “Crescendo!” International Violin Academy for Professional Musicians located in Germany — Berlin, Munich and Cologne, where he trained professional string players for top artistic performance.
Among his students are numerous prizewinners of the most prestigious international violin competitions, celebrated performers with successful career, eighteen concertmasters of great orchestras worldwide, professors in several colleges, universities and other academic sites in many countries.
In 2006, Prof. Harutyunian founded the world’s first online violin academy for advanced violin students who strive for professional success and since then he is successfully teaching his students online.
Today Prof. Harutyunian is living in Germany and in Armenia. He gives regular master classes in Europe, North and South America and is actively working with his students all over the globe. Besides his teachings he has a busy concert schedule and is a welcomed guest at international festivals and events throughout the world.
